7 Anne of Green Gables

  • The children’s home is sending us one of their orphan[ˈɔːfn] boys. We’re going to adopt[əˈdɒpt] him, you see, and he’s going to help me with the farm work.

  • In the old days people kept cats or dogs in the house; today you would go to prison for keeping an animal.
